The Properties of Dielectrics [PDF]

open access: possibleNature, 1924
As more general interest is now being taken in dielectric actions, it may be useful to give some conclusions derived from a long study of them.

Dielectric Properties Of Nanoferrites

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
Dielectric properties: permittivity, loss factor, tan delta and ionic conductivity of nanostructured ferrites have been measured. Samples used were nickel, zinc and yttrium doped ferrites mixed in various ratios. The synthesis has been performed using precipitation method and obtained powders were pressed in pellets under varying pressure.

Dielectric Properties of Materials

1991
The interaction of electromagnetic radiation with a solid may be described either microscopically or macroscopically according to requirements. In a microscopic picture one would speak, for instance, of the absorption of a photon via the creation of a phonon or an electron-hole pair.

Dielectric properties of ceramics

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1996
The ceramic form of is of commercial importance as a ceramic capacitor dielectric and it is of scientific interest since it provides a straightforward example of the effect of solid solution composition of ceramics on dielectric properties. This paper presents the results of a sufficient number of measurements of the most important dielectric ...

Measurement of the Dielectric Properties of Paper

NIP & Digital Fabrication Conference, 1998
Unlike de resistivities of non-impact printing papers that are routinely measured, their dielectric properties are seldom considered. The do resistivity alone does not predict the behavior of paper very well when paper passes through a transfer nip. If the electric field changes with time, all anisotropic frequency-dependent electrical properties of ...

Measurement of Dielectric Properties

2014
The ageing of the insulation of HV apparatus is not only caused by the high electric field strength but also by thermal and mechanical stresses that evolve during normal operation condition. This may lead to chemical processes associated with a gradual deterioration of the integral insulation properties.

Dielectric Properties of Solids

2009
In this chapter, we studied dielectric properties of solids in the presence of an external electromagnetic disturbance. We first reviewed elementary electricity and magnetism, and introduced concept of local field inside a solid. Then dispersion relations of self-sustaining collective modes and reflectivity of a solid are studied for various situations.

Dielectric Properties of Foods

2005
Electromagnetic heating, such as microwave and radiofrequency (RF) heating, finds applications in many food processes in industry and at home, including reheating, precooking, cooking, tempering, baking, drying, pasteurization, and sterilization. Electromagnetic heating processes are governed by the material properties called dielectric properties.
