The dielectric resonator antenna

1985 Tenth International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1985
There is, today, strong interest on the part of both military and commercial users, in antenna systems which can operate efficiently in the millimeter wave region (100–300 GHz) and above. Reducing the size of currently-used microwave frequency antennas to obtain higher resonant frequencies will usually be unsuccessful, either because the small size ...

Numerical analysis of dielectric resonator antennas

International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields, 2000
A numerical analysis of various dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs): simple (singleelement) and complex shape configurations (stacked and embedded resonators) withdifferent excitations (dipole, coaxial probe, slot‐coupled microstrip line) using a time‐harmonic surface finite element method (SFEM) is presented.

30°-60°-90° Triangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna: A new shaped Dielectric Resonator Antenna

2016 IEEE 7th Annual Information Technology, Electronics and Mobile Communication Conference (IEMCON), 2016
30°-60°-90° triangular shaped Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) is investigated here. The DRA is formed by cutting the equilateral Triangular DRA (TDRA) along its median. Fundamental mode is excited for both antennas. A comparative study between input impedance, S 11 and far-field power patterns are presented.

Dielectric Resonator Antenna Loaded with Monopole Antenna

2013 Third International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communication Technologies (ACCT), 2013
A DRA loaded with monopole antenna is proposed in the present work. The metal cap is used to cover the monopole antenna top as well as top of DRA. These designing increase the operative frequency of the antenna. The antenna system resonates at 4.4 GHz. The simulation results of return loss, VSWR, gain and radiation pattern are presented.

Investigation on dielectric resonator antennas

2017 Third International Conference on Sensing, Signal Processing and Security (ICSSS), 2017
The area of wireless communications has been increased from last decade. The success of the second-generation(2G) motivates the development of wideband 3G, 4G, cellular phones and other wireless products and services, including WLAN, local multi-point distributed networks(LMDS), home RF, Bluetooth etc.

Elliptical cylinder dielectric resonator antenna

2004 10th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics and URSI Conference, 2004
Dielectric Resonators (DRs) have many applications as Microwave devices and Antenna. In many DRAs the simple geometry poses a significantly complex electromagnetic fields. There isn't analytical closed-form solution for most but hemispherical DRA. One usual method for the analysis of DRAs is finding propagation modes of its geometry and by knowing the ...

Broadband elliptical dielectric resonator antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2005
A broadband low-loss elliptical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) excited by using the microstrip-line technique is proposed. The effect of geometrical modifications of the microstrip feed line on the gain, bandwidth, and radiation performances of the antenna has also been investigated.

Reconfigurable Dielectric Resonator Antennas

2011
With the increasing demand for high performance communication networks and the proliferation of mobile devices, significant advances in antenna design are essential. In recent years the rising demands of the mobile wireless communication industry have forced antennas to have increased performance while being limited to an ever decreasing footprint ...

Compact broadband dielectric resonator antennas

2010 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications, 2010
A method to design ultra-wideband dielectric resonator antennas is described. The volume of the antenna is further reduced by employing the standard conducting mirror wall technique. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated using HFSS simulations.

Aperture-coupled dielectric resonator antenna

Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium 1991 Digest, 2002
A practical antenna configuration is proposed for use at microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies. It consists of a circular cylindrical dielectric resonator fed by a microstrip feedline through a coupling aperture in the ground plane between them. Experimental results for antennas operating between 13 and 16 GHz are presented.
