Circularly Polarized Hybrid Dielectric Resonator Antennas: A Brief Review and Perspective Analysis

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Recently, it has been a feasible approach to build an antenna, in view of the potential advantages they offer. One of the recent trends in dielectric resonator antenna research is the use of compound and hybrid structures.

Cost-efficient modeling of antenna structures using Gradient Enhanced Kriging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Reliable yet fast surrogate models are indispensable in the design of contemporary antenna structures. Data-driven models, e.g., based on Gaussian Processes or support-vector regression, offer sufficient flexibility and speed, however, their setup cost ...

Perforated dielectric resonator antennas

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2002
A dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is formed by perforating a dielectric substrate with a lattice of holes. The performance of several perforated DRA prototypes is compared to a conventional DRA and the results demonstrate better gain and cross-polarisation levels.

ENHANCED RADIATION PATTERNS OF A WIDE-BAND STRIP-FED DIELECTRIC RESONATOR ANTENNA [PDF]

open access: yesJordanian Journal of Computers and Information Technology, 2015
A simple wide-band rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is designed for the X-band and Ku-band applications. The DRA is excited by a vertical strip placed on the middle of the DRA wide side wall through a coaxial probe attached to a finite size

Circularly Polarized Dielectric Resonator Antenna With Two Annular Vias

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, a new technique for circular polarization in a slot coupled dielectric resonator antenna is proposed. The circular polarization is generated by inserting the two annular vias into dielectric resonator slightly off the diagonal position. In

The Effect of Random Surface Inhomogeneities on Microresonator Spectral Properties: Theory and Modeling at Millimeter Wave Range

open access: yes, 2008
The influence of random surface inhomogeneities on spectral properties of open microresonators is studied both theoretically and experimentally. To solve the equations governing the dynamics of electromagnetic fields the method of eigen-mode separation ...

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Resonant hemispherical dielectric antenna

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1984
An antenna consisting of a resonant dielectric hemisphere on top of a ground plane is investigated. Calculations of the internal and external fields are made with emphasis on the lowest-order mode that results in efficient radiation in the direction perpendicular to the ground plane.
