TRANSFORMATION OF SURFACE WAVES OF COUPLED DIELECTRIC WAVEGUIDES INTO VOLUME WAVES USING DIFFRACTION GRATINGS [PDF]
The development and improvement of operational characteristics of communication lines, radiolocation, navigation, surface overview, remote control and warning systems at the airports and at the stations is provided by the development of shorter-wave ...

Self-amplified Emission of Cherenkov Radiation from a Relativistic Particle Inside Layered Dielectric-filled Waveguide [PDF]
It is shown that in some special cases the Cherenkov radiation from a charged particle moving along the axis of cylindrical waveguide filled with a semi-infinite material consisting of dielectric plates alternated with vacuum gaps is many times stronger ...

Guiding mechanisms in dielectric-core photonic-crystal optical waveguides [PDF]
We show that the main guiding mechanisms in dielectric-core photonic crystal optical waveguides are total internal reflection and distributed Bragg reflection.

Measurement of the Dielectric Constant and Loss Tangent of Thallium Mixed Halide Crystals KRS-5 and KRS-6 at 95 GHz [PDF]
The dielectric constants and loss tangents of KRS-5 and KRS-6 thallium halide mixed crystals have been measured at 95 GHz using both the shorted waveguide (SWG) reflection method and the Fabry-Perot (F-P) transmission method on samples filling standard ...

Square dielectric THz waveguides
A holey cladding dielectric waveguide with square cross section is designed, simulated, fabricated and characterized. The TOPAS waveguide is designed to be single mode across the broad frequency range of 180 GHz to 360 GHz as shown by finite-difference time domain simulation and to robustly support simultaneous TE and TM mode propagation.

Windowed Green Function Method for Nonuniform Open-Waveguide Problems [PDF]
This contribution presents a novel Windowed Green Function (WGF) method for the solution of problems of wave propagation, scattering and radiation for structures which include open (dielectric) waveguides, waveguide junctions, as well as launching and/or

Mode-matching analysis of a shielded rectangular dielectric-rod waveguide [PDF]
Rectangular cross-section dielectric waveguides are widely used at millimeter wavelengths. In addition, shielded dielectric resonators having a square cross-section are often used as filter elements, however there is almost no information available on ...
