Broadband enhancement of light emission in silicon slot waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate the light emission properties of electrical dipole emitters inside 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) silicon slot waveguides and evaluate the spontaneous emission enhancement (F_p) and waveguide coupling ratio (β).

NUMERICAL-ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE RADIATION FROM FLAT WAVEGUIDE WITH FINITE NUMBER OF SLOTS [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2016
Characteristics of radiation of electromagnetic waves from flat metallic waveguide filled with a dielectric and having the finite number of not equidistant parallel slots on one side of the waveguide excited by a fundamental waveguide wave are studied ...

Terahertz-driven linear electron acceleration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The cost, size and availability of electron accelerators is dominated by the achievable accelerating gradient. Conventional high-brightness radio-frequency (RF) accelerating structures operate with 30-50 MeV/m gradients. Electron accelerators driven with

Composite dielectric waveguide

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1984
Guided modes propagating in a composite dielectric waveguide are calculated by modal analysis and a least-squares boundary residual technique. The core and the external medium are multidielectric. Dispersion characteristics are presented and calculated by the above method for various combinations of structures and dielectric constants.

Simplified Complex Permittivity Measurement of Dielectric Materials Using a Compact Waveguide and a Machine Learning Technique [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science
The Nicolson–Ross–Weir (NRW) algorithm is widely used to extract the complex permittivity of dielectric materials. Conventional NRW-based setups typically require machining dielectrics to fit waveguide apertures and to achieve precise adjustment across ...

A new technique and results of measurements of dielectric and magnetic properties of loss dielectrics for vacuum tubes [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2019
A technique for measuring dielectric and magnetic properties of materials by the waveguide method is proposed in which the error, associated with the presence of gaps between the sample and the waveguide wall is eliminated by comparison with the results ...

Three‐dimensional Antimony Sulfide Based Flat Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the development of a grayscale electron beam lithography (g‐EBL) method for fabricating antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) nanostructures with customizable 3D profiles. The refractive index of g‐EBL patterned Sb2S3 is determined based on the synergy of genetic algorithm and transfer matrix method.
