Combustion Modeling of Diesel Sprays
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2016<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Several models for ignition, combustion and emission formation under diesel engine conditions for multi-dimensional computational fluid dynamics have been proposed in the past. It has been recognized that the use of a reasonably detailed chemistry model improves the combustion ...

Soot in Diesel Combustion Systems
Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2006AbstractDiesel soot, one of the major environmental pollutants, is the finer particle produced during the high temperature pyrolysis or combustion of diesel fuel. Advances in the understanding of soot formation in diesel combustion systems during the recent decades are surveyed in this paper.

Combustion in the Diesel Engine
1990The complicated mechanism of combustion in the diesel engine and the fact that sufficiently precise measurements of the chemical and physical phenomena are beset with difficulties mean that many phases of the combustion process still defy satisfactory analysis.

Diesel Combustion Temperature on Soot
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1980<div class="htmlview paragraph">From recently published papers, mostly from Japanese authors, which deals with soot containing flames, the author chose certain experimental results contained in these papers to support the idea that 2000 to 2400°K is the temperature range in diffusion flames where the flame contains soot.

Experimental work has been performed to characterized diesel spray combustion in an optically accessible constant-volume combustion vessel. A single-hole diesel injector with nozzle diameter of 100 um has been used for testing. Bulk gas temperature and density with the combustion vessel has been prepared at specified diesel engine condition (900 K, 23 ...
