CO2‐Based Fischer‐Tropsch Synthesis Toward Aviation Fuel Components Using a Na‐Promoted Fe Catalyst

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A Na‐promoted Fe catalyst was investigated to produce liquid hydrocarbons using CO2‐based Fischer‐Tropsch synthesis. As a result of a systematic variation of operation parameters, 49 wt % of the organic liquid was promising as sustainable aviation fuel. Abstract The CO2‐based Fischer‐Tropsch synthesis toward liquid hydrocarbons was investigated using a

Reaction kinetics of molybdenum dissolution by hydrogen peroxide in acidic and alkaline solutions using tartaric acid and sodium hydroxide: A semi‐empirical model with rotating disc method

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Molybdenum dissolution in H2O2‐NaOH solution. Abstract Molybdenum is an amphoteric metal that dissolves in both acidic and alkaline solutions. This fundamental study explores a sustainable process for the dissolution of molybdenum, focusing on the reaction kinetics in H2O2, H2O2‐NaOH, and H2O2‐C4H6O6 solutions.

Charting the landscape of the environmental exposome

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 1, Issue 4, December 2022., 2022
We describe the biological and chemical components of the environmental exposomes in three major environmental matrices that are highly relevant to human and social‐economical health—air, soil, and water. We discuss how different exposome components can interact with each other. Finally, we propose a list of outstanding challenges to be tackled to push

A stabilized foam formulation using FTP‐SDS surfactants for wettability alteration and flow diversion in carbonate fractured oil reservoirs

open access: yesJournal of Surfactants and Detergents, Volume 26, Issue 1, Page 83-96, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Foam injection contributes to improved oil recovery through flow diversion, reduction of interfacial tension (IFT), and wettability alteration of the rock while its stability is an issue. In this article, nitrogen‐foam was optimally formulated using fluorocarbon tubiguard protect (FTP) surfactant stabilized with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) co‐

Fines deposition during hydrotreating: Effects of catalyst size and bed arrangement

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Fines deposition presents a significant problem during the hydrotreating of bitumen‐derived gas oils. The accumulation of fines leads to reactor clogging and consequently, pressure drop buildup. At critical levels, the hydrotreating reactor must be prematurely shutdown, resulting in substantial economic losses for refineries.
