Functionalizing carbon nanotubes (CNT) with the mesitylcopper (Cu‐mes) complex modifies the surface of CNT, developing Cu‐Pt alloys and Cu‐species. The result is a modified Pt electronic structure that promotes the catalytic activity of the 5 wt% Pt/CNTCu‐mes nanocatalyst for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions, and oxygen reduction reaction.

The oxidative stability of biodiesel from homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis of castor/cottonseed oil blends is studied. Castor oil's ricinoleic acid improves oxidative stability, acting as a natural antioxidant. Yet, HT catalysis led to lower stability due to catalyst leaching.
