Combustion of the Diesel Fuel Spray

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2001
AbstractThe paper deals with the computer simulation of the Diesel fuel spray combustion under the similar conditions as in Diesel engines. A mathematical model of the spray propulsion and combustion is treated which allows the observation of the phenomena in the spray during its movement through air. Fuel droplets of the spray are vaporized due to the

Novel water hyacinth biodiesel as a potential alternative fuel for existing unmodified diesel engine: Performance, combustion and emission characteristics

Energy, 2019
This work examines the feasibility of fuelling biodiesel derived from water hyacinth in a compression ignition engine. This work also proposes water hyacinth biodiesel (WHB) as a potential alternative energy source since the above species is available ...

Performance tests of a diesel engine fueled with pentanol/diesel fuel blends

Fuel, 2013
Abstract The use of straight (in modified engines) or blended alcohols with fossil fuel provides an attractive alternative fuel for internal combustion engines. Moreover, alcohol can be produced by biorefineries, thus reducing the use of fossil resources.

A Comparative Analysis of Combustion Process in D.I. Diesel Engine Fueled with Biodiesel and Diesel Fuel

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2000
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The 1997 Kyoto International Conference Protocol committed industrialized countries to reduce their global emissions of greenhouse gases within the period 2008 2012 by at least 5% with respect to 1990. In view of this and following the European Community directives, the Italian government approved a three-year ...

Experimental study on evaporation characteristics of diesel/cerium oxide nanofluid fuel droplets

Fuel, 2019
Diesel/cerium oxide nanofluid fuel was a high-energy-density fuel with addition of highly exothermic NPs, and its combustion performance was better than conventional fuels.

Diesel Fuels

1940
Though the successful development of the Diesel engine depends upon its ability to digest the widest possible range of fuels between kerosine and the heavier residual type of fuel such as bunker C fuel (1, 2, 3), the need for some general specification, particularly for the higher speed engine, is generally admitted.

Cold Flow Properties Of Automotive Diesel Fuels And Diesel Fuel Systems

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1988
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A cold flow index of automotive diesel fuels in Japan has been investigated, from the view point of the fuel system configuration of diesel vehicles, by a task force study organized by the Japan Petroleum Institute. The results of the study are as follows; <ol class="list nostyle"> <li class="list-item">

Spray characteristics of diesel fuel, Fishch-Tropsch diesel fuel and their blend

2011 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2011
Spray characteristics of pure diesel fuel, F-T50 fuel (blend of diesel and Fischer-Tropsch diesel with a volume ratio of 1:1) and Fischer-Tropsch diesel were investigated in a constant volume bomb (CVB). Results show that for all the fuels tested, spray angles are initially wide and then decrease rapidly with time.
