An Assessment of Diet Overlap of Two Mesocarnivores in the North West Province, South Africa [PDF]
We used scat analysis to study the diet of two sympatric medium-sized carnivores: brown hyaena and black-backed jackal, in the NorthWest Province of South Africa. Seven major dietary categories were identified from the scats, with mammal remains being most common for both species.

Discerned Fragments in Feces Indicates Diet Overlap [PDF]
A mean dissimilarity index was used to measure the degree of dietary overlap of appropriately paired diet and fecal samples of cows, bison, and sheep. When botanical composition is determined by the microscope technique for plant fragments identified in ...

Diet overlap and relative abundance of sympatric dasyurid carnivores: a hypothesis of competition [PDF]
1. Diet overlap among age and sex classes of sympatric dasyurid carnivores (Marsupialia: Dasyuridae) at Cradle Mountain National Park in Tasmania, Australia, was determined to assess the likelihood of current interspecific competition, which could influence and explain the disparate population densities of the three species. 2.

Diet seasonality and overlap of Chrysichthys species on Lake Kainji, Nigeria [PDF]
Seasonality and overlap of diet of Chrysichthys species in Kainji Lake was studied for a period of one year. A total of two hundred and forty five Chrysichthys nigrodigitatus and one hundred and nineteen Chrysichthys auratus longifilis were used during the study. Chrysichthys species food items ranged from plant to animal materials. Seasonal variations

Resource partitioning among African savanna herbivores in North Cameroon: the importance of diet composition, food quality and body mass [PDF]
The relationship between herbivore diet quality, and diet composition (the range of food plants consumed) and body mass on resource partitioning of herbivores remains the subject of an ongoing scientific debate.

Diet Overlap Between Livestock and Wild Herbivores in the Greater Himalaya [PDF]
Understanding the niche usage and dietary habits of wild ungulate populations is crucial to monitoring their response to livestock grazing and changes in habitat quality. Livestock grazing is common throughout the Himalaya and may reduce available forage for wild ungulates, but few studies have assessed the impact of livestock grazing on the diets of ...
