Elementary Hadamard Difference Sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
This paper is primarily a study of difference sets in elementary abelian 2-groups. It is, however, somewhat wider in scope and includes an exposition of the fundamental notions relating to the more general topics of difference sets and the Fourier ...

Survival After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Diamond–Blackfan Anemia Syndrome: The Role of Iron Overload—A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We assessed the effect of iron overload (IO) on mortality and complications following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in patients with Diamond–Blackfan anemia syndrome (DBAS) in a systematic review of individual participant data and cohort data from observational studies.

Codes from difference sets

open access: yes, 2014
This is the first monograph on codebooks and linear codes from difference sets and almost difference sets. It aims at providing a survey of constructions of difference sets and almost difference sets as well as an in-depth treatment of codebooks and ...

Squares and difference sets in finite fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
For infinitely many primes p = 4k+1 we give a slightly improved upper bound for the maximal cardinality of a set B ⊂ Z p such that the difference set B−B contains only quadratic residues. Namely, instead of the ”trivial” bound |B| ≤ √p we prove |B √p

A Situational Assessment of the Diagnostic Landscape and Organizational Readiness to Implement Next‐Generation Sequencing at Two Childhood Cancer Treatment Centers in Ghana

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) has emerged as a promising approach to improve diagnostic accuracy, but its feasibility in low‐ and middle‐income countries remains unknown. This study characterized the diagnostic landscape and assessed organizational readiness for NGS implementation at two childhood cancer treatment centers in Accra ...

Correlation of fuzzy sets

open access: yes, 2011
When we deal with crisp data, it is very common to find the correlation between variables. Here, we propose a method to calculate the correlation coefficient for fuzzy data, but rather than defining the correlation on the intuitionistic fuzzy sets like ...

Differential Gene Sets Profiling in Gram-Negative and Gram-Positive Sepsis

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2022
BackgroundThe host response to bacterial sepsis is reported to be nonspecific regardless of the causative pathogen. However, newer paradigms indicated that the host response of Gram-negative sepsis may be different from Gram-positive sepsis, and the ...

A family of difference sets

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1977
Abstract A construction is given for difference sets with parameters v = 1 2 3 s+1 (3 s+1 − 1) , k = 1 2 3 s (3 s+1 + 1), λ = 1 2 3 s (3 s + 1), n = 3 2s in certain noncyclic groups of order v.

On difference sets with small $$\lambda $$ [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebraic Combinatorics, 2020
In a 1989 paper \cite{arasu2}, Arasu used an observation about multipliers to show that no $(352,27,2)$ difference set exists in any abelian group. The proof is quite short and required no computer assistance. We show that it may be applied to a wide range of parameters $(v,k,\lambda)$, particularly for small values of $\lambda$.
