Beyond the Non‐Hermitian Skin Effect: Scaling‐Controlled Topology from Exceptional‐Bound Bands

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We establish a novel mechanism for topological transitions in non‐Hermitian systems that are controlled by the system size. Based on a new paradigm known as exceptional‐bound (EB) band engineering, its mechanism hinges on the unique critical scaling behavior near an exceptional point, totally unrelated to the well‐known non‐Hermitian skin ...

Piecewise continuous approach to nonlinear differential equations approximation problem of computational structural mechanics

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
This paper presents a nonlinear differential equations system piecewise continuous approximation. The piecewise continuous approximation improves piecewise linear approximation through reducing the errors at the boundaries of different linear ...

An inverse problem for a nonlinear Fredholm integro-differential equation of fourth order with degenerate kernel

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2015
We consider the questions of one value solvability of the inverse problem for a nonlinear partial Fredholm type integro-differential equation of the fourth order with degenerate kernel. The method of degenerate kernel is developed for the case of inverse

Distinct Biotypes of Visual Perception in Major Depressive Disorder

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In a discover dataset (272 acute MDD patients), this work identifies a novel depression biotype characterized by impaired visual motion perception, using machine learning clustering. An independent dataset confirms the robustness of this biotype through cross‐validation and demonstrates its generalizability.

A Legendre Wavelet Spectral Collocation Method for Solving Oscillatory Initial Value Problems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
In this paper, we propose an iterative spectral method for solving differential equations with initial values on large intervals. In the proposed method, we first extend the Legendre wavelet suitable for large intervals, and then the Legendre-Guass ...

Taylor collocation method for systems of high-order linear differential–difference equations with variable coefficients

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2013
A Taylor collocation method has been developed to solve the systems of high-order linear differential–difference equations in terms of the Taylor polynomials.

Switched Differential Algebraic Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this chapter, an electrical circuit with switches is modelled as a switched differential algebraic equation (switched DAE), i.e. each mode is described by a DAE of the form Ex′=Ax+Bu where E is, in general, a singular matrix and u is the input. The resulting time-variance follows from the action of the switches present in the circuit, but can also ...

Quasi-generalized variables [PDF]

open access: yes
The numerical solution of a system of differential and algebraic equations is difficult, due to the appearance of numerical instabilities. A method is presented here which permits numerical solutions of such a system to be obtained which satisfy the ...

Algebraic entropy for differential-delay equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We extend the definition of algebraic entropy to a class of differential-delay equations. The vanishing of the entropy, as a structural property of an equation, signals its integrability.

Modeling and Verification of 1/f Noise Mechanisms in FAPbBr3 Single‐Crystal X‐Ray Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstratethat surface‐trap‐induced carrier number fluctuations are the dominantmechanism in FAPbBr3 Schottky devices, a conclusion supported by thedistinct defect profiles revealed by Drive‐Level Capacitance Profiling (DLCP). Throughnoise contribution decomposition, it is found that the 1/f noise of thedetector is the key noise source affecting ...
