Using Airborne Laser Scanning and Sentinel‐2 to Understand Subcanopy Light Regimes and Understory Diversity of Vascular Plants in Temperate Mountain Forests

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that not just Airborne Laser Scanning, but also Sentinel‐2 can effectively estimate absolute canopy cover and canopy cover heterogeneity ‐ structural metrics that determine the subcanopy light regime, found to be linked to the vascular plant species richness in the understory of temperate mountain forests.

Development of mobile lidar complex for remote sensing of greenhouse gases in the troposphere on the horizontal (inclined) paths [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The mobile lidar complex for measuring the spatial distribution of ozone (O3) and methane (CH4) concentrations in the troposphere on horizontal (inclined) sensing paths in the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) spectral regions is presented.

Multi‐Spectral Gaussian Splatting with Neural Color Representation

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) [KKLD23] has transformed novel‐view synthesis from RGB images, yet remains restricted to the visible spectrum. Many applications, including agricultural monitoring, rely on multi‐spectral imaging, where spectral camera alignment and scalability pose major challenges.

Validation of double-pulse 1572 nm integrated path differential absorption lidar measurement of carbon dioxide

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
A ground-based double-pulse 1572 nm integrated path differential absorption (IPDA) lidar was developed for carbon dioxide (CO2) column concentrations measurement.

Alluvial ridge morphology on avulsing rivers

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Alluvial ridges are built by preferential channel‐belt deposition and control river avulsions, yet a systematic analysis of their morphology has been missing. To address this gap, we analyse a globally distributed dataset of 8970 alluvial ridge flanks on 14 different rivers.

Triple-Pulsed Two-Micron Integrated Path Differential Absorption Lidar: A New Active Remote Sensing Capability with Path to Space

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
The two-micron wavelength is suitable for monitoring atmospheric water vapor and carbon dioxide, the two most dominant greenhouse gases. Recent advances in 2-μm laser technology paved the way for constructing state-of-the-art lidar transmitters for ...

Robustness of high‐throughput prediction of leaf ecophysiological traits using near infrared spectroscopy and poro‐fluorometry

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 9, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Water scarcity is a major threat to crop production and quality. Improving drought tolerance through variety selection requires a deeper understanding of plant ecophysiological responses, but large‐scale phenotyping remains a bottleneck. This study assessed the potential of high‐throughput tools (spectroscopy and poro‐fluorometry) to predict ...

Measurements of Water Vapor Profiles with Compact DIAL in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
In recent years, the frequency of occurrence of locally heavy rainfall that can cause extensive damages, has been increasing in Japan. For early prediction of heavy rainfall, it is useful to measure the water vapor vertical distribution upwind cumulus ...
