Pulsed Quantum Excitation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This manuscript demonstrates the improvements that single photon sources can gain if their source of excitation is quantum rather than classical. Illuminating a pair of identical two‐level systems, the author shows that the excitation with pulses of quantum light yields more antibunched and more indistinguishable emission than if the excitation were ...

Breaking the Exponential: Decoherence‐Driven Power‐Law Spontaneous Emission in Waveguide Quantum Electrodynamics

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Introducing dynamical dephasing into the photon modes of a waveguide causes spontaneous emission to switch from conventional exponential decay to a robust power‐law behavior visible at short times. The power law arises from photon diffusion in a dynamically disordered environment, uncovering a previously unexplored, decoherence‐induced pathway to ...

Rational points in a family of conics over F2(t)$\mathbb {F}_2(t)$

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
Abstract Serre famously showed that almost all plane conics over Q$\mathbb {Q}$ have no rational point. We investigate versions of this over global function fields, focusing on a specific family of conics over F2(t)$\mathbb {F}_2(t)$ which illustrates new behavior.

Polynomials Associated with Dihedral Groups

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2007
There is a commutative algebra of differential-difference operators, with two parameters, associated to any dihedral group with an even number of reflections. The intertwining operator relates this algebra to the algebra of partial derivatives.

Vector bundles on bielliptic surfaces: Ulrich bundles and degree of irrationality

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper deals with two problems about vector bundles on bielliptic surfaces. The first is to give a classification of Ulrich bundles on such surfaces S$S$, which depends on the topological type of S$S$. In doing so, we study the weak Brill–Noether property for moduli spaces of sheaves with isotropic Mukai vector. Adapting an idea of Moretti

Extending the hyper‐logistic model to the random setting: New theoretical results with real‐world applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

A highly accurate numerical method for solving boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik equation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
A highly accurate numerical method is given for the solution of boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik (BgT) equation with Caputo derivative of order 0<β<2$$ 0<\beta <2 $$ by using the collocation‐shooting method (C‐SM). The collocation solution is constructed in the space Sm+1(1)$$ {S}_{m+1}^{(1)} $$ as piecewise polynomials of degree at ...
