Maximal symplectic torus actions

Abstract There are several different notions of maximal torus actions on smooth manifolds, in various contexts: symplectic, Riemannian, complex. In the symplectic context, for the so‐called isotropy‐maximal actions, as well as for the weaker notion of almost isotropy‐maximal actions, we give classifications up to equivariant symplectomorphism.

Explicit constructions of short virtual resolutions of truncations

Abstract We propose a concept of truncation for arbitrary smooth projective toric varieties and construct explicit cellular resolutions for nef truncations of their total coordinate rings. We show that these resolutions agree with the short resolutions of Hanlon, Hicks, and Lazarev, which were motivated by symplectic geometry, and we use our definition

A note on the cohomology of moduli spaces of local shtukas

Abstract We study localized versions of spectral action of Fargues–Scholze, using methods from higher algebra. As our main motivation and application, we deduce a formula for the cohomology of moduli spaces of local shtukas under certain genericity assumptions, and discuss its relation with the Kottwitz conjecture.

The log Grothendieck ring of varieties

Abstract We define a Grothendieck ring of varieties for log schemes. It is generated by one additional class “P$P$” over the usual Grothendieck ring. We show the naïve definition of log Hodge numbers does not make sense for all log schemes. We offer an alternative that does.

On higher Jacobians, Laplace equations, and Lefschetz properties

Abstract Let A$A$ be a standard graded Artinian K$\mathbb {K}$‐algebra over a field of characteristic zero. We prove that the failure of strong Lefschetz property (SLP) for A$A$ is equivalent to the osculating defect of a certain rational variety.
