Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Interfacial capacitance of graphene: Correlated differential capacitance and in situ electrochemical Raman spectroscopy study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The origin of the low interfacial capacitance of carbon-based materials is a long standing puzzle. The space charge capacitance and the quantum capacitance models have been proposed to interpret the phenomena.

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Extracting Impurity Locations using Scanning Capacitance Microscopy Measurements

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2016
In this article we investigate the possibility to use scanning capacitance microscopy (SCM) for the 2-D and 3-D "atomistic" dopant profiling of semiconductor materials.

The C‐terminal region of KIF26B is indispensable for nephron progenitor condensation and kidney formation in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KIF26B plays an important role in kidney development. We engineered mice lacking the C‐terminal region of KIF26B and found severe kidney defects, including bilateral renal agenesis, similar to full Kif26b knockout mice. The mutation disrupted nephron progenitor condensation and reduced Gdnf‐Wnt11 signaling, showing that the KIF26B C‐terminal region is ...

Low Value Capacitance Measurement System with Adjustable Lead Capacitance Compensation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The present paper describes the development of a low cost, highly accurate low capacitance measurement system that can be used over a range of 0 – 400 pF with a resolution of 1 pF.

Ionic liquid–electrode interface: From one law to fit them all to one model to predict them all

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications
The electric double layer (EDL) – arguably the central concept in electrochemistry – remains the nut everyone wants to crack to tune its properties and, thus, control the performance of electrochemical devices.

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Magnetic-field dependent differential capacitance of polymer diodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
journal articleUsing admittance spectroscopy, we found that bipolar organic diodes based on pi-conjugated polymer, 2-methoxy-5-(20-ethylhexyloxy), MEH-PPV, have strong divergent contribution to the device differential capacitance.

Negative differential capacitance of quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The dependence of charges accumulated on a quantum dot under an external voltage bias is studied. The charge is sensitive to the changes of number of filled levels and the number of conducting levels (channels).
