Artificial Sequences and Complexity Measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper we exploit concepts of information theory to address the fundamental problem of identifying and defining the most suitable tools to extract, in a automatic and agnostic way, information from a generic string of characters.

Charge Injection and Transport in an Isoindigo‐Based Polymer Transistor

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 12, Issue 6, 23 March 2026.
This study presents the charge injection and transport properties of field‐effect transistors based on an isoindigo‐bithiophene donor‐acceptor polymer semiconductor contacted with thiolated self‐assembled monolayer (SAM)‐functionalized electrodes. Temperature‐dependent contact characteristics are measured and simulated.

A Study on Pseudorange Biases in BDS B1I/B3I Signals and the Impacts on Beidou Wide Area Differential Services

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Due to satellite signal deformations, there are different constant biases in the same satellite signal that are measured by different technical types of receivers and different satellite signals that are measured by the same type of receiver, which are ...

Kinetics of protein-based in vivo Imaging tracers for positron emission tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Within the framework of the “Sel-tag imaging project”, a novel method was used to rapidly label protein tracers and the in vivo targeting abilities of these tracers were studied in animal models of cancer using a preclinical positron emission ...

Workplace Challenges and Policy Responses in the Caribbean Nursing Workforce: Insights From Country Chief Nurses

open access: yesNursing &Health Sciences, Volume 28, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The Caribbean faces significant nursing and midwifery workforce challenges. A 2023 PAHO policy advises Member States to develop and implement strategies to strengthen their health workforce, including “promoting decent work conditions.” Caribbean nurses' work conditions have not been described.

Triple-Frequency GPS Un-Differenced and Uncombined PPP Ambiguity Resolution Using Observable-Specific Satellite Signal Biases

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
The new generations of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) space vehicles can transmit three or more frequency signals. Multi-frequency observations bring a significant improvement to precise point positioning ambiguity resolution (PPP AR). However,

Comprehensive Analyses of PPP-B2b Performance in China and Surrounding Areas

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
BeiDou Global Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3) provides a regional Precise Point Positioning (PPP) service, called PPP-B2b, for users in China and surrounding areas through B2b signal transmitted from its three geostationary earth orbit (GEO ...

Small understory trees increase growth following sustained drought in the Amazon

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 6, Page 2787-2799, March 2026.
Summary Droughts pose a major threat to the Amazon rainforest, yet the mechanisms enabling trees to maintain growth under prolonged drought remain poorly understood, particularly in the understory layer. We leveraged a 22‐yr Throughfall Exclusion (TFE) in a 1‐ha plot in eastern Amazonia, paired with a Control plot, to test whether small understory ...

Neuronal assembly dynamics in supervised and unsupervised learning scenarios [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The dynamic formation of groups of neurons—neuronal assemblies—is believed to mediate cognitive phenomena at many levels, but their detailed operation and mechanisms of interaction are still to be uncovered.
