Differential phase shift quantum key distribution

2008 First ITU-T Kaleidoscope Academic Conference - Innovations in NGN: Future Network and Services, 2008
Quantum-key distribution has been studied as an ultimate method for secure communications, and now it is emerging as a technology that can be deployed in real fiber networks. Here, we present our QKD experiments based on the differential- phase-shift QKD protocol.

Estimation Distribution Differential Evolution

2010
This paper proposes a novel adaptation scheme for Differential Evolution (DE) frameworks. The proposed algorithm, namely Estimation Distribution Differential Evolution (EDDE), is based on a DE structure and employs randomized scale factor ad crossover rate values.

Differential-phase-shift quantum key distribution

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
A novel type of quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol called differential-phase-shift (DPS) QKD is described. It utilizes a weak coherent pulse train instead of individual photons as in conventional QKD.

Fiber Optic Distributed Differential Displacement Sensor

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2011
A Fiber Optic Distributed Differential Displacement Sensor (FODDDS) that is temperature insensitive is modelled and experimentally verified to determine shape. Created using a steel tape, 9/125 μm single-mode fiber, and adhesive, the FODDDS can be used to determine the shape or displacement of any object to which it is attached.

VERTICAL DIFFERENTIATION AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF INCOME

Bulletin of Economic Research, 2006
The paper analyses the effects of income concentration on the behaviour of a duopoly with vertical product differentiation and uncovered market. By using a trapezoid distribution, we solve explicitly for market equilibrium as a function of a mean preserving spread of the income distribution. We show that overall more concentrated incomes imply stronger

Differentially private distributed sensing

2016 IEEE 3rd World Forum on Internet of Things (WF-IoT), 2016
The growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) creates the possibility of decentralized systems of sensing and actuation, potentially on a global scale. IoT devices connected to cloud networks can offer sensing and actuation as a service enabling networks of sensors to grow to a global scale.

Differential distribution of vesicular carriers during differentiation and synapse formation

Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, 1993
AbstractCoated and noncoated vesicles participate in cellular protein transport. Both acetylcholine receptors (AChR) and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) are transported via coated vesicles, some of which accumulate beneath the neuromuscular synapse where AChRs cluster.

Locally differentially-private distribution estimation

2016 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2016
We consider a setup in which confidential i.i.d. samples X 1 , ..., X n from an unknown discrete distribution P X are passed through a discrete memoryless privatization channel (a.k.a. mechanism) which guarantees an ∊-level of local differential privacy.

Differential Distribution Concept Evaluation.

1993
Abstract : The concept of Differential Distribution distributes M1A2 tanks only in leadership positions instead of replacing every M1A1 tank in an armored force. This concept is an opportunity to provide either a given armor force structure with a digitized command and control capability at less cost or provide this digitization to a larger armor force
