Modelling by differential equations

Teaching Mathematics and its Applications: An International Journal of the IMA, 2006
This paper aims to show the close relation between physics and mathematics taking into account especially the theory of differential equations. By analysing the problems posed by scientists in the seventeenth century, we note that physics is very important for the emergence of this theory.

Models and Differential Equations

2000
This book is devoted to the modeling, by ordinary differential equations, of dynamic systems with special attention to classical mechanics. The application of models to the analysis of systems of real world generates mathematical problems which can be dealt with by using analytic and computational methods.
