This paper shows the global existence and boundedness of solutions of a reaction diffusion system modeling liver infections. The existence proof is presented step by step and the focus lies on the interpretation of intermediate results in the context of ...

Ordinary Differential Equations [PDF]
AbstractIn this chapter, we discuss a first application of the time derivative operator constructed in the previous chapter. More precisely, we analyse well-posedness of ordinary differential equations and will at the same time provide a Hilbert space proof of the classical Picard–Lindelöf theorem (There are different notions for this theorem.

An Approximate Solution for a Class of Ill-Posed Nonhomogeneous Cauchy Problems
In this paper, we consider a nonhomogeneous differential operator equation of first order u′t+Aut=ft. The coefficient operator A is linear unbounded and self-adjoint in a Hilbert space. We assume that the operator does not have a fixed sign. We associate

Steady-State Motion of a Load on an Ice Cover with Linearly Variable Thickness in a Channel
The paper considers the visco-elastic response of the ice cover in a channel under an external load moving with constant speed along the center line. The channel has a rectangular cross-section with a finite depth and width.

On Linear Differential Equations Involving a Para-Grassmann Variable [PDF]
As a first step towards a theory of differential equations involving para-Grassmann variables the linear equations with constant coefficients are discussed and solutions for equations of low order are given explicitly.

Modelling health impacts of hepatitis – model selection and treatment plans
Hepatitis B and C are viruses causing liver infections and resulting in grave secondary diseases. While there are different treatments for chronic liver infections, the process of evolving chronic diseases is still not fully understood.

Differential Algebraic Equations [PDF]
AbstractLet H be a Hilbert space and $$\nu \in \mathbb {R}$$ ν ∈ ℝ . We saw in the previous chapter how initial value problems can be formulated within the framework of evolutionary equations.

On the Cauchy Problem for Pseudohyperbolic Equations with Lower Order Terms
We consider a class of strictly pseudohyperbolic equations with lower order terms. The solvability of the Cauchy problem in Sobolev spaces with special weights is established. The uniqueness of the solution is proven and estimates are obtained.

On the discrete and continuous Miura Chain associated with the Sixth Painlevé Equation [PDF]
A Miura chain is a (closed) sequence of differential (or difference) equations that are related by Miura or B\"acklund transformations. We describe such a chain for the sixth Painlev\'e equation (\pvi), containing, apart from \pvi itself, a Schwarzian ...

WEIGHTED VARIABLE HARDY SPACES ASSOCIATED WITH OPERATORS SATISFYING DAVIES-GAFFNEY ESTIMATES
We introduce the weighted variable Hardy space 𝐻(^𝑝(·) _𝐿,𝑤) (ℝ^𝑛) associated with the operator 𝐿, which has a bounded holomorphic functional calculus and fulfills the Davies-Gaffney estimates. More precisely, we establish the molecular characterization
