Reduction Technique of Differential Propagation Delay with Negative Group Delay Function
2020 14th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP), 2020This paper deals with an innovative technique of propagation delay reduction. The technique is based on the use of bandpass negative group delay (NGD) function. The principle of the propagation delay reduction is introduced by considering a simple scenario of Tx multi-wireless sensors communicating with a single Rx sensor.

Spectral polarimetry with a differential group delay bias
Optics Letters, 2004We show that the addition of a polarization controller and bias differential group delay to a spectral polarimeter increases the amount of polarization information that can be extracted from a Stokes spectrum measurement. We use this biased spectral polarimetry on 40-Gbit/s signals to measure the polarization mode dispersion of the optical fiber ...

Differential group delay prediction in optical fiber links
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2011We simulate the time evolution of differential group delay (DGD) in a fiber link in the hinge model with time series forecasting procedures, in particular, autoregressive (AR) models with Kalman filter, pattern imitation, and a Taylor expansion. In these studies, the furthest prediction horizon was attained with the AR accompanied by the Kalman filter ...

About the Differential Group Delay of Spun Fibers
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2008It is widely accepted that spinning a fiber while it is drawn is one of the most effective way to reduce its polarization mode dispersion. In this paper, the mean square differential group delay of rapidly, periodically spun fibers is analyzed by means of a theoretical model with a wide range of validity.

Abstract We propose a novel group delay and differential group delay calibration method for polarization-dependent optical spectral characterization measurements. The calibration method is based on the dispersive nature of stimulated Brillouin scattering and its polarization dependent spectral response. The main advantage of the calibration method is

Improved degree of polarization-based differential group delay measurements
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2014The time-averaged Stokes vectors obtained after polarization-scrambled light containing multiple, independently polarized frequency components traverses an optical fiber collectively form a surface in Stokes space. The geometry of this surface can be directly related to the polarization mode dispersion of the fiber. This paper examines both numerically
