Transport signatures of an Andreev molecule in a quantum dot -- superconductor -- quantum dot setup [PDF]
Hybrid devices combining quantum dots with superconductors are important building blocks of conventional and topological quantum-information experiments. A requirement for the success of such experiments is to understand the various tunneling-induced non-local interaction mechanisms, namely, crossed Andreev reflection, elastic cotunneling, and direct ...

Transport in Graphene: Ballistic or Diffusive? [PDF]
We investigate the transport of electrons in disordered and pristine graphene devices. Fano shot noise, a standard metric to assess the mechanism for electronic transport in mesoscopic devices, has been shown to produce almost the same magnitude ($\approx 1/3$) in ballistic and diffusive graphene devices and is therefore of limited applicability.

Intra‐aortic balloon pump: is the technique really outdated?
Aims Intra‐aortic balloon pump (IABP) utilization was expected to be quickly abandoned following the IABP‐shock trial and its class III, level B recommendation in the 2016 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines.

Impact of controlled extensional flow during extrusion of PP, PVDF and LDPE
The structure and properties of semi-crystalline polymers can be drastically tailored by extensional flows. In this work, polypropylene (PP), Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) were melt extruded through a sequence of ...

The Prytz planimeter is a simple mechanical device that historically was used to approximate areas of plane regions. In this article, we present a mathematical description and analysis of the planimeter in terms of sub-Riemannian geometry and in terms of connections and horizontal lifts -- central concepts in differential geometry.
