Variation in differential object marking: On some differences between Spanish and Romanian

open access: yesOpen Linguistics, 2020
Although differential object marking (DOM) has been studied from a multitude of perspectives, research into the types of variation it allows in closely related languages is still needed.

Integration of a failure monitoring within a hybrid dynamic simulation environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The complexity and the size of the industrial chemical processes induce the monitoring of a growing number of process variables. Their knowledge is generally based on the measurements of system variables and on the physico-chemical models of the process.

Model based fault diagnosis for hybrid systems : application on chemical processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The complexity and the size of the industrial chemical processes induce the monitoring of a growing number of process variables. Their knowledge is generally based on the measurements of system variables and on the physico-chemical models of the process.

The non-unity of differential object marking

open access: yesIsogloss
This paper shows that differential object marking (DOM) is not a unitary cross-linguistic phenomenon, and observes that its two subtypes, differential object flagging (DOF) and differential object indexing (DOI), probably have rather different ...

On the homotopy type of the Deligne-Mumford compactification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
An old theorem of Charney and Lee says that the classifying space of the category of stable nodal topological surfaces and isotopy classes of degenerations has the same rational homology as the Deligne-Mumford compactification.

Differential place marking and differential object marking

open access: yesSTUF - Language Typology and Universals, 2019
AbstractThis paper gives an overview of differential place marking phenomena and formulates a number of universals that seem to be well supported. Differential place marking is a situation in which the coding of locative, allative or ablative roles depends on subclasses of nouns, in particular place names (toponyms), inanimate common nouns and human ...

Subject-Object binding dependencies in Romanian

open access: yesLingBaW, 2023
This paper dwells on an interesting contrast between Romance (Romanian, Spanish a.o.) and Germanic languages (English, German a.o.) with respect to the syntax and the interpretation of the direct object (DO).

Differential Object Marking in Paraguayan Guaraní [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Differential Object Marking (DOM), the appearance of a direct object marker on some but not all direct objects in a language, has been the focus of a substantial body of literature.

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.
