Temperature-dependency and boundary condition impacts on the multiscale vibrational behavior of laminated nested dual conical shell structure semi-AUV applications

open access: yesApplied Ocean Research
This investigation examines the vibrational behavior of a novel shell structure, nested dual conical shells (NDCSs), and a truncated conical shell (TCS) under varying thermal conditions.

Semiological features of epilepsy seizures and paroxysmal non‐epileptic events in children: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, EarlyView.
Pediatric paroxysmal non‐epileptic events (PNEs) are frequently misdiagnosed as epilepsy. We systematically reviewed and synthesized 40 studies, including 3123 video‐EEG monitored pediatric patients. Epileptic seizures in infants (1 month–3 years) typically presented as arrest, while in children and adolescents (1 month–21 years) they manifested as ...

The quadratic B-spline method for approximating systems of Volterra integro fractional-differential equations involving both classical and fractional derivatives

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Математика сериясы
The quadratic B-spline method is a widely recognized numerical technique for solving systems of Volterra integro-differential equations that involve both classical and fractional derivatives (SVIDE’s-CF).

Life Cycle Consumption and Portfolio Choice Under Real Interest Rate Risk

open access: yesFinancial Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We set up a life cycle model with real interest rate risk to demonstrate that real interest rates have implications for optimal household consumption and investments. Lower interest rates lead to higher optimal stock investments and lower consumption.

The effect of quadrature on the dynamics of a discretised nonlinear integro-differential equation

open access: yes, 2000
The long-term dynamics of a discretized, nonlinear, integro-differential equation with convolution kernel are studied. For a constant time-step algorithm the existence and stability of fixed and periodic points are investigated. A systematic treatment is

Assessment and Correction of Non‐Linearity Effects for In Situ Rb‐Sr Geochronology Applied to High 87Rb/86Sr Mica

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, EarlyView.
Key Points Measurement of 86Sr at count rates < 1500 cps can result in statistical bias. Non‐linear signals in analogue detection mode (e.g., Rb) present a challenge for accurately dating high 87Rb/86Sr mica (> 1000). Accounting for these considerations, high 87Rb/86Sr mica are dated here with accuracies of ∼ 1%.

On the error of parameter-dependent compound quadrature formulas

open access: yes, 1993
Ehrenmark (this journal, 1988) and Vanden Berghe et al. (this journal, 1990) introduced quadrature formulas of a compound type, which are obtained by interpolation with the null space of the linear differential operator Drf + λ2iDr-2f, where λi may be ...

The Decentralization of Liquor Policies in Texas During the Post‐Prohibition Era

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine the decentralization of liquor policies in Texas during the Post‐Prohibition era using newly collected historical legislative roll call data. By combining these data with local referendum vote shares, we analyze both legislators' and constituents' preferences on liquor policy.

Specification Tests for Jump‐Diffusion Models Based on the Characteristic Function

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary Goodness‐of‐fit tests are suggested for several popular jump‐diffusion processes. The suggested test statistics utilise the marginal characteristic function of the model and its L2‐type discrepancy from an empirical counterpart. Model parameters are estimated either by minimising the aforementioned L2‐type discrepancy or by maximum likelihood ...

Mixing It Up: Inflation at Risk

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract Understanding how risk factors shape the economic outlook is essential for guiding policy decisions. This paper develops a flexible framework that decomposes distributional risk forecasts of macro‐economic variables into underlying contributions and supports the construction of interpretable risk measures.
