Application of generalized differential quadrature rule to sixth-order differential equations
Communications in Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2000This paper deals with a general numerical method to solve high-order differential equations. This method regards the function values at all grid points and their derivatives at grid points wherever necessary as independent variables. A procedure for calculating weighting coefficients explicitly for an easy and accurate implementation of the generalized

Application of generalized differential quadrature rule in Blasius and Onsager equations
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2001AbstractThe generalized differential quadrature rule (GDQR) proposed recently by the authors is applied here to third‐order non‐linear differential equations of the Blasius type and to sixth‐order linear Onsager differential equations. High (⩾3rd)‐order differential equations in fluid mechanics are dealt with without using δ‐point techniques.

A generalized differential quadrature rule (GDQR) proposed recently by the authors is applied here to obtain the axisymmetric bending solution of shells of revolution, which includes both long and short cylinders and storage tanks with stepped wall thickness. The boundary conditions for long cylinders are simplified in a practical way.

The generalized differential quadrature rule proposed recently by these authors is applied here to the free vibration analyses of solid circular plates with radially varying thickness and elastic restraints. The thickness can vary radially in any given continuous form, and it varies exponentially and linearly in this work.

Abstract This study dealt with domain decomposition in the recently proposed generalized differential quadrature rule. In detail, the authors concentrated on the free vibration of multispan and stepped Euler beams, and beams carrying an intermediate or end concentrated mass. Since compatibility conditions should be implemented in a strong form at the

Summary: The generalized differential quadrature rule (GDQR) proposed recently by the authors is applied for the first time to second and fourth order initial-value differential equations with Duffing-type non-linearity. Procedures are given in detail to convert these non-linear differential equations into a set of linear algebraic equations in an ...

Abstract In the present paper, free axisymmetric vibrations of functionally graded circular plates subjected to a non-linear temperature distribution along the thickness direction have been studied on the basis of classical plate theory. The top and bottom surfaces of the plate are under uniform thermal environment.
