Quadrature error cancellation for micro-machined vibratory gyroscope embedded in high order electromechanical Sigma Delta modulator

open access: yes, 2013
Vibratory micro-machined gyroscopes utilize Coriolis force to detect the rotation rate. Recently it has been proved that embedding the gyroscope in an electromechanical ΣΔ modulator (EMSDM), results in increased linearity, rate detection range, and ...

Generalized Differential Quadrature and Its Application. G.U. Aero Report 9117 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The technique of differential quadrature (DQ) for the solution of a partial differential equation is extended and generalized in this paper. The general formulation for determining the weighting coefficients of the first order derivative is obtained. A

A novel unified variational finite difference (VFD) solution method for optimal control problems

open access: yesMeasurement + Control
This article is aimed to propose a simple yet efficient unified numerical strategy for solving both linear and non-linear optimal control problems. To do so, the general form of quadratic performance index function and nonlinear state equations are ...

Ultrahigh‐Order Harmonic Mode‐Locked Optoelectronic Oscillator

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This article demonstrates a record‐breaking microwave frequency comb generator using an ultrahigh‐harmonic‐order mode‐locked optoelectronic oscillator. By integrating dual recirculating loops into a low‐coherence system, the researchers achieved a harmonic order of 956 with superior noise suppression.

Comb‐Driven Coherent Optical Transmitter for Scalable DWDM Interconnects

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A comb‐driven coherent optical transmitter on a Si/SiN platform enables scalable DWDM interconnects by integrating ultra‐compact microring‐assisted modulators and interleavers. High‐baud coherent signaling achieves 400 Gb/s per wavelength and >$>$1 Tb/s multi‐channel transmission, with projected >$>$10 Tb/s per fiber, offering a path toward energy ...

Quadrature Method for an Autonomous Ordinary Differential Equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A quadrature method is used to obtain uniqueness results for an autonomous nonlinear ordinary differential equation. This method enables us to give a necessary and sufficient condition for a unique solution when the nonlinearity is convex.

Sundman‐Like Transformations and the NRT Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present a new generalization of the well‐known power‐type Sundman transformation, involving not only powers of the function but also of its derivative, along with its inverse. Our aim is to explore the use of such transformations in the derivation of solutions of ordinary differential equations and in the study of their properties.

Symmetry properties of a generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation and some explicit solutions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005
The symmetry group method is applied to a generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation and several classes of group invariant solutions for it are obtained by means of this technique. Polynomial, trigonometric, and elliptic function solutions can be calculated.
