Differential effects of methylphenidate on signalled and non-signalled reinforcement

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1980
Rats were trained to press a bar with water reinforcement under a variable interval 15-sec (VI 15), variable interval 15-sec signalled-reinforcement (VI SD), or a differential-reinforcement-of-low-rate 10-sec (DRL 10) schedule. Methylphenidate (MP) had little effect on response rates or reinforcements-earned in the VI 15 group.

Differential PCM for Speech and Data Signals

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1972
The performance of differential PCM encoders used for both speech and data signals is investigated. Primarily concerned with data signals, this paper shows how differential PCM systems designed for speech perform with differential-phase-modulation, single sideband and partial response data signals operating at data rates of 1200-9600 bits/s.

Signal transduction pathways in neuronal differentiation

Current Opinion in Neurobiology, 1993
New insights into the signal transduction pathways for neuronal growth factors and cell adhesion molecules are affording us a better understanding of the intracellular mechanisms for neuronal differentiation, and of the ways in which the various signals are integrated during this process.

Differential signaling in presynaptic neurotransmitter release

CMLS Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences, 2005
Neuronal communication is tightly regulated by presynaptic signaling, thereby temporarily and locally secreting one or more transmitters in order to exert propagation or modulation of network activity. In the last 2 decades our insight into the molecular regulation of presynaptic transmitter vesicle traffic and fusion has exponentionally grown due to ...

Modelling cell signalling and differentiation in the urothelium

Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 2005
Urothelial cells line the bladder. If the urothelium is damaged, it is vital that it repairs itself quickly. Experimental results shedding light on how this repair process works are presented, revealing in particular the dependence of the response on the length of time for which the drug Troglitazone (TZ) is applied. A simple mathematical model for the
