Analysis of treatment‐naïve high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) and control tissues for ERVs, LINE‐1 (L1), inflammation, and immune checkpoints identified five clusters with diverse patient recurrence‐free survivals. An inflammation score was calculated and correlated with retroelement expression, where one novel cluster (Triple‐I) with high ...

Non‐small cell lung cancer targeted treatment is limited to a few known genetic alterations, with few alternatives in advanced treatment lines. To direct treatment decisions by drug sensitivity testing (DST), this study compared several methods for tumor cell isolation from malignant effusions, pointing to repeated CD45+ cell depletion for effective ...

Effect of voltage dynamics on response properties in a model of sensory hair cell [PDF]
Sensory hair cells in auditory and vestibular organs rely on active mechanisms to achieve high sensitivity and frequency selectivity. Recent experimental studies have documented self-sustained oscillations in hair cells of lower vertebrates on two distinct levels. First, the hair bundle can undergo spontaneous mechanical oscillations.

Advanced glycation end products promote the release of endothelial cell‐derived mitocytosis
Under diabetic conditions, AGEs induce mitochondrial damage in HUVECs, activating migrasome‐mediated mitocytosis. Migrasomes encapsulate damaged mitochondria and are released into the extracellular space, facilitating intercellular mitochondrial transfer.

From genome to phenome: Predicting multiple cancer phenotypes based on somatic genomic alterations via the genomic impact transformer [PDF]
Cancers are mainly caused by somatic genomic alterations (SGAs) that perturb cellular signaling systems and eventually activate oncogenic processes. Therefore, understanding the functional impact of SGAs is a fundamental task in cancer biology and precision oncology.

We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.

Volvox barberi flocks, forming near-optimal, two-dimensional, polydisperse lattice packings [PDF]
Volvox barberi is a multicellular green alga forming spherical colonies of 10000-50000 differentiated somatic and germ cells. Here, I show that these colonies actively self-organize over minutes into "flocks" that can contain more than 100 colonies moving and rotating collectively for hours.

Stem cell‐based embryo models (SCBEMs) are valuable to study early developmental milestones. Matrigel, a basement membrane matrix, is a critical substrate used in various SCBEM protocols, but its role in driving stem cell lineage commitment is not clearly defined.

Next Generation Epigenetic Detection Technique:Identifying Methylated DNA using Graphene Nanopore [PDF]
DNA methylation plays a pivotal role in the genetic evolution of both embryonic and adult cells. For adult somatic cells, location and dynamics of methylation has been very precisely pinned down with the 5-cytosine markers on cytosinephosphate- guanine (CpG) units.
