A B-spline-based method for radiation and diffraction problems

Ocean Engineering, 2006
An open uniform B-spline-based panel method is developed for solution of potential flow problems. In this method, both geometry as well as the field variables are represented by the same open uniform B-spline basis function. The method is initially applied for the radiation problem in unbounded fluid. Computed results for a spheroid of different aspect

A variational method for water wave radiation and diffraction problems

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1989
It is shown that the linear and nonlinear exciting force coefficients, the added mass and radiation damping matrices, and the far-field wave amplitude (reflection and transmission coefficients in the two-dimensional case) can all be written as stationary values of well-defined functionals.
