Characteristic wave numbers for simple source formulations of acoustic radiation and diffraction problems

It is shown that the characteristic wave numbers for which the simple source formulation of acoustic diffraction problems fails can be obtained directly by use of the model’s integral equation. Characteristic wave numbers for diffraction by a rigid cylinder and by a rigid sphere are determined.

Analysis of space and surface waves excitation in layered magnetodielectric and metamaterial structures in the context of radiation and diffraction problems
