Diffraction edges perceived efficiency
2010Today, noise barriers are recognized as the most effective noise minimization measures of road traffic noise near sensitive receptors located in the road surrounding areas. Especially where the urban occupation is characterized by buildings of low height. For higher buildings noise barriers can not be a completely effective solution.

Efficient optimization of diffractive optical elements based on rigorous diffraction models
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2001An efficient optimization strategy for the design of diffractive optical elements that is based on rigorous diffraction theory is described. The optimization algorithm combines diffraction models of different degrees of accuracy and computational complexity.

Holograms of high diffraction efficiency
Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1972An experimental study was made of the effects of bleaching on holograms. Optimal bleaching conditions made it possible to achieve a high diffraction efficiency (50%) for a hologram which recorded interference of two plane waves. In the case of a hologram of a transparency, it was important to ensure a satisfactory quality of the reconstructed image ...

Diffraction efficiency of absorption gratings
Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1983The diffraction efficiency of absorption gratings is investigated using a coupled multiwave analysis. For the four-wave case the analytical expressions for the signal amplitudes are given. The applicability of the four-wave approximation is also included.

High-Efficiency Diffraction in Spiders
Optical Interference Coatings, 1997Many animals in the insect/spider world exhibit strong metallic colours [1]. Such colouration is usually called structural, because the effects are caused by diffraction of light on semi-regular structures at the scale of the wavelength. The surface of the C.
