The InfraRed Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) for TMT: Reflective ruled diffraction grating performance testing and discussion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present the efficiency of near-infrared reflective ruled diffraction gratings designed for the InfraRed Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS). IRIS is a first light, integral field spectrograph and imager for the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) and narrow field ...

Raman Microscopy at the Organic–Inorganic Interfaces in Human Calcified Aortic Valves Shows the Co‐Existence of Whitlockite Crystals and Carbonated Hydroxyapatite‐Mineralized Collagen Fibrils

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study advances our understanding of aortic valve stenosis by capturing spatially resolved chemical and structural changes at the nanoscale. The findings highlight the potential of combined Raman and electron microscopy for understanding calcification mechanisms across diverse tissue types.

Statistical Analysis of Single-Order Diffraction Grating with Quasi-Random Structures

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Single-order diffraction gratings with quasi-random structures are effective optical elements in suppressing harmonics contamination. However, background intensity fluctuations introduced by quasi-random structures may affect the measurement of the ...

Fixing of volume holograms in ferroelectric K_(1-y)Li_yTa_(1-x)Nb_xO_3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We report on the fixing of photorefractive volume holograms in potassium lithium tantalate niobate with ionic gratings and also with ferroelectric domain-reversed gratings.

Nanoscale Mapping of Plasmonic Charge Transport in Nano‐Resonators Based on Resistive Switching Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this strategy, a conductive nano‐probe is employed to induce nanoscale phase transitions and map the nanoscale conductivity and trap density of GST films. By utilizing the contrasting properties of phase‐change states, nano‐resonators are fabricated that exhibit plasmonic conduction and dramatically different transport characteristics.

INSCRIPTION PROCESS RESEARCH AND OPTIMIZATION FOR SUPERIMPOSED FIBER BRAGG GRATINGS [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2017
Subject of Research. The paper presents the study of inscription process distinctive features for superimposed fiber Bragg gratings. We analyzed spectral characteristics changes of superposition segregated gratings that appear during inscription of ...

Optimal Design and Analysis of 4.7 μm Hybrid Deep Dielectric High Efficiency Transmission Gratings

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
There is currently no transmission grating with good diffraction efficiency in the 4.7 μm band. Metal gratings at this wavelength are all reflective gratings which has a diffraction efficiency of lower than 90% and lower laser damage threshold.

Transmissive Suppressed-Order Diffraction Grating (SODG)

open access: yes, 2019
We present a novel type of Suppressed-Order Diffraction Grating(SODG). An SODG is a diffraction grating whose diffraction orders have all been suppressed except one that is selected to provide electromagnetic deflection.

A causal look into the quantum Talbot effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A well-known phenomenon in both optics and quantum mechanics is the so-called Talbot effect. This near field interference effect arises when infinitely periodic diffracting structures or gratings are illuminated by highly coherent light or particle beams.

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.
