Diffraction Losses in Radiometry and Photometry
Metrologia, 1970The precision of radiometry and photometry is reaching a stage, in standardizing laboratories at least, where greater attention should be paid to losses of flux by diffraction. Otherwise errors of up to 0.5% or more may occur. This article reviews from the radiometric point of view diffraction losses at circular apertures, for both the Fraunhofer and ...

Diffraction Losses Associated with Tungsten Lamps in in Absolute Radiometry
Applied Optics, 1975The diffraction losses associated with absolute radiometers were calculated for the case where the source is a tungsten lamp used with a long wavelength suppressing filter. The calculations were done using Blevin's treatment, which assumes a point source and a single diffracting aperture. We have shown that this treatment is sufficiently accurate for a

Diffraction losses in monocrystalline x-ray refractive lenses
SPIE Proceedings, 2017In the present paper we describe X-ray glitches and diffraction losses in monocrystalline diamond X-ray refractive lenses. For this purpose, X-ray spectroscopy of several types of diamond lenses was done at the BM31, ESRF. X-rays were propagating through lenses, while the transmitted intensity was measured at different energies.

Diffraction losses associated with curved ultrasonic transducers
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1977Numerical computations are used to evaluate the values of diffraction losses in a coaxial transducer pair system where the transducers are spherically curved and identically shaped. The complex pressure field of the emitting transducer on the surface of the receiver is calculated with the aid of the impulse response function of a curved radiator.

Babinet principle and diffraction losses in laser resonators
Quantum Electronics, 2000A simple analytical technique, based on the Babinet principle, for calculating low diffraction losses of different kinds in stable resonators is described. The technique was verified by comparison with the known numerical and analytical calculations of the losses in specific diffraction problems.

Experimental determination of spherical resonator diffraction losses
Optics Communications, 1978Abstract To obtain single transversal mode oscillation of a laser oscillator a pinhole has to be inserted into the resonator. This causes diffraction losses, comparable with the internal losses of the laser system. For a pulsed Nd-YAG-laser, the total losses and the diffraction losses are determined experimentally as a function of the Fresnel number ...
