Global well-posedness and nonlinear stability of a chemotaxis system modeling multiple sclerosis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We consider a system of reaction-diffusion equations including chemotaxis terms and coming out of the modeling of multiple sclerosis. The global existence of strong solutions to this system in any dimension is proved, and it is also shown that the solution is bounded uniformly in time.

Rule Based Expert System for Diagnosis of Neuromuscular Disorders [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
In this paper, we discuss the implementation of a rule based expert system for diagnosing neuromuscular diseases. The proposed system is implemented as a rule based expert system in JESS for the diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy and Parkinson's disease. In the system, the user is presented with a list of questionnaires

Pressure-Poisson Equation in Numerical Simulation of Cerebral Arterial Circulation and Its Effect on the Electrical Conductivity of the Brain [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
This study considers dynamic modelling of the cerebral arterial circulation and reconstructing an atlas for the electrical conductivity of the brain. While high-resolution 7-Tesla (T) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data allow for reconstructing the cerebral arteries with a cross-sectional diameter larger than the voxel size, electrical conductivity ...

Large deviations for rough path lifts of Watanabe's pullbacks of delta functions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We study Donsker-Watanabe's delta functions associated with strongly hypoelliptic diffusion processes indexed by a small parameter. They are finite Borel measures on the Wiener space and admit a rough path lift. Our main result is a large deviation principle of Schilder type for the lifted measures on the geometric rough path space as the scale ...

Blindness due to a rare form of Encephalitis

open access: yes, 1925
Two articles in a recent number of Brain call attention to a very rare condition of the central nervous system in which occur symptoms of great interest to ophthalmic surgeons. The first article is by Dr.

Approximations of the Brownian Rough Path with Applications to Stochastic Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
A geometric p-rough path can be seen to be a genuine path of finite p-variation with values in a Lie group equipped with a natural distance. The group and its distance lift (R^{d},+,0) and its Euclidean distance. This approach allows us to easily get a precise modulus of continuity for the Enhanced Brownian Motion (the Brownian Motion and its Levy Area)
