By fractional diffusive waves we mean the solutions of the so-called time-fractional diffusion-wave equation. This equation is obtained from the classical D'Alembert wave equation by replacing the second-order time derivative with a fractional derivative of order β∈(0,2) and is expected to govern evolution processes intermediate between diffusion and ...

Aerosol loading and cloud cover can alter the composition of radiation reaching the Earth’s surface and affect the ecosystem’s carbon cycle. In this study, we established an empirical model of the diffuse radiation fraction (Kd) based on a clearness ...

Pearson diffusions are governed by diffusion equations with polynomial coefficients. Fractional Pearson diffusions are governed by the corresponding time-fractional diffusion equation. They are useful for modeling sub-diffusive phenomena, caused by particle sticking and trapping.

Fractional reaction-diffusion equation [PDF]
A fractional reaction-diffusion equation is derived from a continuous time random walk model when the transport is dispersive. The exit from the encounter distance, which is described by the algebraic waiting time distribution of jump motion, interferes with the reaction at the encounter distance. Therefore, the reaction term has a memory effect.

Direct effect of aerosols on solar radiation and gross primary production in boreal and hemiboreal forests [PDF]
The effect of aerosol loading on solar radiation and the subsequent effect on photosynthesis is a relevant question for estimating climate feedback mechanisms.
