Glioblastoma with markedly reduced contrast enhancement after corticosteroid administration: Increased density and reduced diffusion capability are noteworthy

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
Corticosteroids are widely used to manage peritumoral edema and associated neurological deficits in patients with brain tumors. We describe the case of a 71-year-old male patient with glioblastoma in which contrast enhancement decreased on radiographic ...

Arterial spin labelling magnetic resonance imaging of the brain: techniques and development

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis centres on the development of arterial spin labelling (ASL) MRI, a non-invasive technique to image cerebral perfusion. In the first chapter I explain the principles of cerebral blood flow (CBF) quantification using ASL beginning with the ...

Lymphoepithelial cysts in the pancreas: MRI of two cases with emphasis of diffusion-weighted imaging characteristics.

open access: yes, 2010
Pancreatic lymphoepithelial cysts (LECs) are rare pancreatic cystic lesions filled with keratinized material, lined by mature, keratinizing squamous epithelium and surrounded by lymphoid tissue containing few lymphoid follicles.

Natural Biomaterials for Osteochondral Repair: From Source to Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Biological origin‐guided overview of natural biomaterials and therapeutic strategies for osteochondral tissue engineering. The circular diagram categorizes representative materials and strategies into plant/algae‐derived, microbial‐derived, animal‐derived, and human‐derived sources, centered on an osteochondral defect repair model.

Structural Adaptive Smoothing in Diffusion Tensor Imaging: The R Package dti

open access: yes
Diffusion weighted imaging has become and will certainly continue to be an important tool in medical research and diagnostics. Data obtained with diffusion weighted imaging are characterized by a high noise level.

Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging with readout-segmented echo-planar imaging

open access: yes, 2012
Diffusion-weighted (DW) magnetic resonance imaging is an important neuroimaging technique that has successful applications in diagnosis of ischemic stroke and methods based on diffusion tensor imaging (DTI).

Fructose‐Based Single‐Chain Polymer Nanoparticles for GLUT1–Mediated Delivery: Impact of Polymer Design on Uptake and In Vivo Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐chain nanoparticles have been proposed as drug delivery carriers, but adding a tail can significantly enhance their performance. This was demonstrated using a tadpole‐like structure comprising a head prepared from a UV‐crosslinked fructose‐based glycopolymer capable of targeting GLUT receptors, combined with a PEG‐based tail. Compared with other

Affinity‐Tuned Albumin Hitchhiking Extends the Bioorthogonal Capture Window in Pretargeting Radiotheranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.
