Global consortium on security transformation : final narrative report, 2008-2010 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The GCST fills the gap between citizens’ perceptions and government policies by encouraging the inclusion of new voices within policy discussions and analysis, especially those of the poor and insecure; making sure existing initiatives become more ...

Understanding phase transitions of α-quartz under dynamic compression conditions by machine-learning driven atomistic simulations

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials
Characteristic shock effects in quartz serve as a key indicator of historic impacts at geologic sites. Despite this geologic significance, atomistic details of structural transformations of quartz under high pressure and shock compression remain poorly ...

Self‐Expanding Cardiovascular Stents: Potentials and Challenges of Shape Memory Biomaterials

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Cardiovascular diseases affect a large portion of the global population and remain leading causes of morbidity and mortality. Endovascular stenting, a minimally invasive procedure, enables the insertion and deployment of stents to restore arterial patency without open surgery.

Singular diffusionless limits of double-diffusive instabilities in magnetohydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We study local instabilities of a differentially rotating viscous flow of electrically conducting incompressible fluid subject to an external azimuthal magnetic field. In the presence of the magnetic field the hydrodynamically stable flow can demonstrate

Asymmetry of the Ferroelectric Phase Transition in BaTiO3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Phase transitions are typically assumed to behave identically in forward and reverse. This work shows that in the ferroelectric material barium titanate this is not true: heating drives an abrupt, first‐order jump, while cooling gives a smooth, continuous change.

High Pressure Formation of the Eight‐Fold Coordinated Post‐Post Spinel MgFe2O4

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract MgFe2O4 was probed to 74(1) GPa and 2,840(130) K as a low‐pressure analog to post‐post spinel Mg2SiO4 predicted in super‐Earths using synchrotron multigrain X‐ray diffraction techniques in the laser‐heated diamond anvil cell. With high‐temperatures above 65 GPa the eight‐fold coordinated δ‐MgFe2O4 (Th3P4‐type) is stable with Mg and Fe ...

Simplified chaotic diffusionless Lorentz attractor and its application to secure communication systems

open access: yes, 2007
Diffusionless Lorentz equations a simplified one-parameter version of the well-known Lorentz model. Also, it was attained in the limit of high Rayleigh and Prandtl numbers, physically corresponding to diffusionless convection. A simplified, one-parameter

Heat Capacity Measurements and Thermodynamic Assessment of the Y2O3–Ta2O5 System

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Phase equilibria in the Y2O3–Ta2O5 system play an important role in the development of new materials for thermal barrier coating (TBC) applications, with higher thermal stability resulting in more efficient gas turbines with reduced exhaust gas emissions.

Digital transformation know how. Connecting digital transformation, agility and leadership

open access: yes, 2020
In recent years, digital development has accelerated and digital turbulence is the new normal. So, it’s time for a synthesis, time to bring stability to that turbulence: What have we learned? What do we know?
