Some results on the digamma function

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences, 2013
The digamma function is defined for x > 0 as a locally summable function on the real line by ˆ(x) = i∞ + Z 1 0 e it i e ixt 1 i e it dt: In this paper we use the neutrix calculus to extend the definition for digamma function for the negative integers. Also we consider the derivatives of the digamma function for negative integers.

Logarithmically completely monotonic functions concerning gamma and digamma functions

Integral Transforms and Special Functions, 2007
For given real numbers a≥0, b∈ℝ and c∈ℝ, let F a, b, c (x)=[Γ(x+1)]1/x (1+a/x) x+b /x c and φ a, b, c (x)=ψ″(x)+[2+(b+c)x−2x 2]/x 3+[3a(2a−b)+(6a−b)x+2x 2]/(x+a)3 with x∈(0, ∞), where Γ(x) and ψ(x) are the well-known Euler gamma function and the psi or digamma function, respectively.

Summations for certain series containing the digamma function

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 2006
Apparently new summations in terms of well-known special functions are deduced for hypergeometric-type series containing a digamma function as a factor. As a by-product of this investigation new reduction formulae for the Kampe de Feriet function F0:2;12:1;0[x, x] are obtained.
