Serial Concatenated Convolution Codes for Coded OFDM in Digital Audio Broadcasting Environment

International Conferences on Information Science and System, 2019
In this paper, we are simulating the Bit Error Rate (BER) for computerized Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) framework that utilizes Co-OFDM system by parallel and serial coding schemes.

Digital audio broadcasting system

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1997
Broadcasting system digitizes audio input signals before RF modulating and transmitting over airwaves to one or more remote receiving stations. Receiving station recovers the digitized signal by demodulating and exponentially expanding the received RF signal.

Digital audio broadcasting receiver development

open access: closedInternational Broadcasting Conference IBC '95, 1995
Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) was developed by the European Eureka-147 project. This system has many technical advantages of modulation coding (COFDM), error correction (Viterbi decoding) and source coding (MUSICAM). DAB is used for high speed data broadcasting to mobile vehicles and can provide CD quality audio programs and various data to drivers.

Broadcasting with digital audio

IEEE Spectrum, 1996
Digital audio broadcasting will come on-line worldwide in the next few years. The technology-also known as digital audio radio or digital sound broadcasting-promises to provide sound of compact-disk quality, nearly free from multipath distortion or other transmission interferences.

A digital audio broadcasting system using short length QC-LDPC

2012 IEEE 14th International Conference on Communication Technology, 2012
This paper presents a system designed for digital audio broadcasting. Short length Quasi Cyclic Low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes is constructed and used in the designed broadcasting system.

Digital audio broadcasting

Telecommunications Policy, 1991
Abstract Digital audio broadcasting (DAB) is a new radio technology which offers many benefits: improved sound quality (CD quality); signal, spectrum and economic efficiency; station parity; and less regulation. This Comment outlines and describes the advantages, promises and policy issues concerning DAB. Policy issues related to DAB include spectrum

Frequency synchronization for digital audio broadcasting

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2003
In DAB, a coarse frequency offset estimation algorithm has to provide an initial frequency error estimate, which is sufficiently accurate for the subsequent fine frequency synchronization algorithm to operate reliably. We present a coarse frequency offset estimation technique using the minimum energy detection scheme for an OFDM-based transmission ...

Printed Digital Audio Broadcast Antennas

PIERS Online, 2008
In this paper, printed antennas were studied for digital broadcast reception. The flrst one is a meandered loop antenna. Being in a meandered form, it can be made very compact. However, the gain and e-ciency are quite low. In our study, the measured gain is only i30dBi. Aside from low gain, the bandwidth is also narrow.

Overview of digital audio broadcasting

Proceedings of 1995 IEEE MTT-S International Topical Symposium on Technologies for Wireless Applications (Conjunction with INTER COMM'95), 2002
There are basically two implementation strategies for digital audio broadcasting. The first strategy requires the availability of new radio spectrum. The second requires that existing spectrum become re-used. Canada has announced plans to embrace the first strategy, using technology developed by the Eureka 147/DAB consortium of Europe.

Digital audio broadcasting - the future of radio

International Broadcasting Conference IBC '95, 1995
September 1995 is a month of considerable significance in the history of radio. It is the month in which DAB enters its operational phase as the BBC starts its Network Radio services, and as substantial pilot schemes get under way in Germany and other European countries.
