Statistical Multiplexing for Digital Audio Broadcasting Applications

IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 2010
In a shared telecommunications medium such as the Eureka 147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system, we expect that available bandwidth will be optimally allocated to different users. This paper proposes optimal bandwidth allocation by use of statistical multiplexing that both service providers and multiplex operators can benefit from.

COEXISTENCE OF TELEVISION BROADCASTING, FM BROADCASTING, DIGITAL BROADCASTING IN DAB AND DRM+ STANDARDS CALCULATION METHODOLOGY

Synchroinfo Journal
The model parameters of analogue and digital radio and TV broadcasting networks are determined on the basis of data on frequency assignments to radio broadcasting stations using information on issued permits for the use of radio frequency channels of ...

The COFDM modulation system : the heart of digital audio broadcasting

, 1995
Digital audio broadcasting offers the potential to give every radio in Europe the sound quality of a compact disc. To accomplish this, it requires a rugged method of transmission.

Digital audio applications to short wave broadcasting

ISIE '97 Proceeding of the IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2002
Digital audio is becoming prevalent in different broadcasting media. In the US, developments include in band digital systems for the FM and AM bands, while in Europe and elsewhere, the Eureka 147 system is undergoing large scale trials. The minimization of data rate is very important in broadcasting because of bandwidth and power constraints.

ALGORITHM AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRACTICAL USE IN THE METHODOLOGY OF COEXISTENCE OF TELEVISION, FM AND DIGITAL BROADCASTING IN DAB AND DRM+ STANDARDS

Synchroinfo Journal
The parameters of the network model are determined on the basis of data contained in the database on frequency assignments of a radio frequency service organization or radio frequency application materials for obtaining an EMC examination conclusion ...

Digital audio broadcasting by satellite

1999
The first reaction to this subject is to ask why should anyone want to broadcast radio programmes from a satellite, and why should the broadcasts be digital? Digital broadcasting is an evolving technology which will provide an enhanced variety and choice of programme, and a rugged delivery mechanism. These are the main driving forces in broadcasting at

Digital audio broadcasting in the FM band

ISIE '97 Proceeding of the IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2002
It is envisioned that all broadcasting will be digital in the future. There are standards work and system development going on in various parts of the world to make this vision reality. In Europe, the emphasis has been on broadband systems (EUREKA) with multiple program channels in a new frequency band.

Performance of cofdm for satellite digital audio broadcasting

International Journal of Satellite Communications, 1995
AbstractThis paper analyses the performance of a coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM) based system for digital audio broadcasting using a highly inclined orbit satellite constellation. The sources of performance degradation considered are non‐linear amplification in the satellite transponder and multipath propagation for mobile ...

A channel demodulator IC for digital audio broadcasting

Proceedings of IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference - CICC '94, 2002
This paper describes the design of a channel demodulator IC for a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. The IC contains 466K-transistors and includes a 160 K embedded Dynamic RAM. The design was done using the PIRAMID silicon compiler. Using the compiler it was possible to create on short term an application specific complex-arithmetic signal ...

Hardware Considerations for Digital Audio Broadcasting System

2005 International Conference on Microelectronics, 2006
In recent years, several implementations have been reported for Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) systems. Normally, implementation parameters of these systems are extracted from extensive system level simulations to adjust various parameters while maintaining the required performance.
