Cooperative Digital Audio Broadcast Networks

2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007
Digital audio broadcast (DAB) systems are considered for delivery of audio information to users in heavily attended sporting, cultural, and amusement events [1]. A unique property of such events is the high density of users. A direct result of this property is the high spatial fading correlation.

Statistical Multiplexing for Digital Audio Broadcasting Applications

IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 2010
In a shared telecommunications medium such as the Eureka 147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system, we expect that available bandwidth will be optimally allocated to different users. This paper proposes optimal bandwidth allocation by use of statistical multiplexing that both service providers and multiplex operators can benefit from.

A RF front-end for digital audio broadcasting

2007 18th European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design, 2007
A band 3 receiver RF front-end for digital audio broadcasting (DAB) is described in this paper. The front-end integrates most of the functions necessary to receive and down convert band 3 (174~245MHz) signals for further baseband processing, including a variable gain LNA, mixers, VGA, IF amplifiers, and PLL.

Digital Audio Broadcasting – DAB

2010
Although DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) was introduced back in the early days of the nineties, well before DVB, it is still relatively unknown to the public in many countries and it is only in a few countries such as, e.g. the UK that some measure of success of DAB in the market can be registered. This chapter deals with the principles of the digital

Overview of digital audio broadcasting

Proceedings of 1995 IEEE MTT-S International Topical Symposium on Technologies for Wireless Applications (Conjunction with INTER COMM'95), 2002
There are basically two implementation strategies for digital audio broadcasting. The first strategy requires the availability of new radio spectrum. The second requires that existing spectrum become re-used. Canada has announced plans to embrace the first strategy, using technology developed by the Eureka 147/DAB consortium of Europe.

Digital audio broadcasting system

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1997
Broadcasting system digitizes audio input signals before RF modulating and transmitting over airwaves to one or more remote receiving stations. Receiving station recovers the digitized signal by demodulating and exponentially expanding the received RF signal.

Printed Digital Audio Broadcast Antennas

PIERS Online, 2008
In this paper, printed antennas were studied for digital broadcast reception. The flrst one is a meandered loop antenna. Being in a meandered form, it can be made very compact. However, the gain and e-ciency are quite low. In our study, the measured gain is only i30dBi. Aside from low gain, the bandwidth is also narrow.
