Digitalization in Controlling

2020
The term digitalization refers to the adoption or increase in the use of digital and computer technology by an organization in order to improve the way of working. This term differs from digitization which describes the action or process of digitizing analogue data into digital form and is understood as a trend reversal in the use of this thesis ...

Digital Controlling

2021

Automatic Tuning of a Digital Controller

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992
Abstract It has been demonstrated that a PID controller can be tuned effectively based on an experiment with relay feedback. This paper describes a tuning method for a general digital controller. The control design method is based on pole placement.

Digital Controllers for VTOL Aircraft

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1976
Using linear-optimal estimation and control techniques, digitaladaptive daptive control laws have been designed for a tandem-rocopteror heliopter which is equipped for fully automatic flight in terminal area operations. Two distinct discrete-time control laws are designed to interface with velocity-command and attitude-command guidance logic, and each ...

Directly Digital Flow Controller

Analytical Chemistry, 2004
An improved directly digital flow controller is evaluated for its ability to modulate gas flow rates. As in the older device, the "GasDAC" (named for its similarity to a weighted-resistor digital-to-analog converter) is capable of controlling gas flow in a linear and reproducible manner with the advantage of having an adjustable range of flow rates ...

Micro-Chaos in Digital Control

Journal of Nonlinear Science, 1996
The authors study the `micro chaos' map \(F:x \to ax - b\text{Int} (x)\), describing the local dynamics of a digitally controlled unstable system, being subject to a linear effect of sampling and a nonlinear effect of round-off. These effects frequently cause chaotic oscillations on a microscopic scale near the equilibrium.
