A digital filter for biological data

Medical & Biological Engineering, 1969
Low pass digital filters are very suitable for use on stored biological data. This paper discusses the characteristics of the ideal data filter and the digital approximation to such a filter. The use of this filter with biological data is shown.

The bandwidth of digital data signal

IEEE Communications Magazine, 1980
The engineering of data communications systems invites involvement with a number of rather refined parametric concepts, such as bit error rate (BER), antenna gain, radiated power, communication efficiency, and bandwidth. Of these, none has been the subject of more lively discussion and revision than bandwidth.

A network for digital data services

Computer Communications, 1982
British Telecom is planning the introduction of an integrated services digital network, designed to carry data, text and voice. The Kilostream services will provide a dedicated data network that will support synchronous data transmission at datarates from 2 400 bit/s to 48 kbit/s, using both X.21 and X.21bis customer interfaces.

Digital Data & Big Data

2023

Digital libraries and data scholarship

Proceedings of the 1st ACM/IEEE-CS joint conference on Digital libraries, 2001
In addition to preserving and retrieving digital information, digital libraries need to allow data scholars to create post-publication references to objects within files and across collections of files. Such references can serve as new metadata in their own right and should also provide methods for efficiently extracting the subset of the original ...

Data Management in the Era of Digitalization

2019
In an increasingly digital world, the modeling and management of data is more important than ever as we move from the traditional management of data through the era of big data and now to an era of digitalization. Many of the traditional data challenges remain, which can be presented and understood in terms of data semantics, structure, syntax, and ...
