Effect of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) Resolution on the Hydrological and Water Quality Modeling
World Environmental and Water Resource Congress 2006, 2006The resolution of digital elevation model (DEM) used for watershed delineation and data extracted from the delineated watershed relevant to hydrography plays an important role in the calibration of hydrological models. The effect of DEM resolution on the drainage length, watershed area and average slope are studied in many earlier works. DEM resolution

Computers, Environment and Urban Systems, 2004
Numerous investigators have examined ways in which digital elevation data can be used to define landform-based units that act as basic spatial and structural entities for soil, terrain or ecological maps. No proposed system of automated terrain or ecological mapping has, to our knowledge, advanced beyond research investigation to achieve routine ...

Development of digital elevation models (DEMs) for agricultural applications
2018Topographic data collected using RTK-DGPS-equipped farm vehicles during field operations could add additional benefits to the original capital investment in the equipment through the development of high accuracy field-DEMs. Repeated surveys of elevation data from repeated field operations may improve DEM accuracy over time.

Control quality of open source Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) in Tunisia
Revue Internationale de Géomatique, 2017Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are an invaluable source of information in large area studies. Some of the DEMs such as Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission Radiometer-Global Digital Elevation Model (ASTER GDEM), shuttle radar topography mission (SRTM), and Global Multi-resolution Terrain Elevation Data 2010 (GMTED2010) are freely available for the ...

On the Quantification of Surface Changes using Grid‐based Digital Elevation Models (DEMs)
Transactions in GIS, 2000This paper discusses the quantification of vertical surface displacements by means of grid‐based digital elevation models (DEMs). The surface changes are quantified by comparing altitude and different topographic parameters, which have a geomorphic significance with respect to surface changes.

Digital elevation model (DEM) generation using the SAR interferometry technique
Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2012The development of satellite technology is rapidly increasing the evolution of remote sensing. Satellite images give extensive useful information about the land structure that is easily manageable in the process of generating true, high-speed information which allows the forecasting of future environmental and urban planning.
