Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Digital Elevation Model Based Hydro‐processing
Abstract The article describes a newly implemented routine, called DEM hydro‐processing, which was added to the overall capabilities of the ILWIS-GIS package developed at ITC. A few novel approaches have been incorporated within the package allowing the user to derive a realistic river and basin schematization, e.g.

HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Digital elevation models and their use for assessing soil erosion rates on arable lands
The paper presents the results of assessing the accuracy of global digital elevation models (GDEMs), SRTM and ASTER GDEMs, based on a small catchment located on the eastern slope of the Central Russian Upland in the upper reaches of the Veduga River ...

Hydrography‐Driven Coarsening of Grid Digital Elevation Models [PDF]
AbstractA new grid coarsening strategy, denoted as hydrography‐driven coarsening, is developed in the present study. The hydrography‐driven coarsening is designed to retain the essential hydrographic features of valleys and channels observed in high‐resolution digital elevation models: (1) depressions are filled in the considered high‐resolution ...
