Design of Digital Notch Filters

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1974
It is shown that a second-order digital notch filter is uniquely characterized by two distinct parameters, the notch frequency and the 3-dB rejection bandwidth. As a result, such a filter can be realized using only two multipliers. Methods are outlined to design a notch filter for a prescribed notch frequency and a prescribed 3-dB rejection bandwidth ...

Design of state digital filters

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1998
In this correspondence, we develop a very simple algorithm for the design of a second-order state-space digital filter. The design equations presented here were derived on the rendition that the sensitivity of the coefficients in the state-space digital filter (SDF) are spread uniformly to all coefficients of the SDF.

Laguerre digital filter design

1995 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002
Using Laguerre networks in the discrete-time (DT) domain has already been addressed by Masnadi-Shirazi and Ahmed (1991). The main contribution of the present paper is to use the Laguerre networks in the frequency domain, and to design digital filters based on the specified frequency response.

Adaptive design of digital filters

ICASSP '81. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
In this paper, we present a novel technique for the design of FIR and IIR digital filters. The design approach begins with the specification of a discrete set of arbitrary magnitude and phase characteristics which describe a desired filter response.

Evolutionary design of digital filter

2010 Sixth International Conference on Natural Computation, 2010
Evolutionary approaches have been used in a large variety of design domains, from aircraft engineering to the designs of filters. Many of these approaches use measures to improve the variety of solutions in the population. In this paper, An alternative approaches to the design of digital filter have been proposed using Multi-objective evolutionary ...
