Understanding natal emigration in group‐living carnivores
Dispersal is a key ecological and evolutionary process, yet drivers of variation in emigration under human‐modified conditions remain understudied. Using a novel genetic approach applied to harvested grey wolves in Idaho, USA, we found that prey availability and population density shape natal emigration patterns in a cooperative breeder.
