Digital geometry may not be discrete

Computer Vision, Graphics, and Image Processing, 1988
Abstract As is often done in set theory we identify sets with their characteristics functions. A consistent use of functional notations in digital geometry has a few distinct advantages over the conventional approach: digital geometry is truly imbedded into the customary topology, e.g., digital images, being sets in themselves, all have continuous ...

An efficient VLSI architecture for digital geometry

Proceedings of IEEE International Conference on Application Specific Array Processors (ASSAP'94), 2002
The main contribution of this work is to show that a number of fundamental digital geometry tasks can be solved fast on a novel VLSI architecture obtained by augmenting the mesh with multiple broadcast architecture (MMB) with precharged 1-bit row and column buses.

Cell complexes, oriented matroids and digital geometry

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 2003
Abstract cell complexes (ACCs) were introduced by Kovalevsky as a means of solving certain connectivity paradoxes in graph-theoretic digital topology, and to this extent provide an improved theoretical basis for image analysis. In this work we argue that

Inter-diagrammatic Reasoning and Digital Geometry

2004
In this paper we examine inter-diagrammatic reasoning (IDR) as a framework for digital geometry. We show how IDR can be used to represent digital geometry in two dimensions, as well as providing a concise language for specifying algorithms. As an example, we specify algorithms and examine the algorithmic complexity of using IDR for reasoning about the ...

Aspects of digital evolution: Geometry and learning

1998
In this paper we present a new chromosome representation for evolving digital circuits. The representation is based very closely on the chip architecture of the Xilinx 6216 FPGA. We examine the effectiveness of evolving circuit functionality by using randomly chosen examples taken from the truth table.

Shape and Geometry in the Integrated Digital Survey

2015
The study of the shape in the architectural survey is the principal goal of the surveyor. Any shape is based on stringent geometric rules that the current digital methods of data acquisition don't detect directly. The basic element in the integrated digital survey is today the point that must to be processed, automatically or manually, to generate a 3D
