Decoding NASICON and Its Metal Interface for Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review paper focuses on lithium‐ and sodium‐based NASICON solid electrolytes and their interfaces with metal anodes using a top‐down framework. It begins with NASICON fundamentals, elucidates anode‐induced failure mechanisms, surveys advanced characterization strategies to understand them, summarizes mitigation approaches, and concludes with a ...

Assessing the Mechanism of NH3 Sensing in Flexible Carbon‐Nanotube‐Based Chemoresistive Sensors via In Situ Photoemission Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Flexible carbon nanotube chemoresistors detect NH3 through charge‐transfer interactions directly revealed by in situ synchrotron X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Binding‐energy shifts of ≈1 eV correlate with resistance changes, demonstrating that intra‐CNT charge transfer between NH3 and CNTs is the dominant sensing mechanism.

Estimating Effective Leaf Area Index of Winter Wheat Using Simulated Observation on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-Based Point Cloud Data

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2020
Within-field variation of leaf area index (LAI) plays an essential role in field crop monitoring and yield forecasting. Although unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based optical remote sensing method can overcome the spatial and temporal resolution ...

AHS2005: The 2005 airborne imaging spectroscopy campaign in the Millingerwaard, the Netherlands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The Millingerwaard was one of the first nature rehabilitation projects for river floodplains in the Netherlands. It therefore serves as an example project for other floodplain rehabilitation projects.

Cr2AlC: A High‐Temperature Transparent Conducting Ceramic

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The high‐quality epitaxial Cr2AlC(0001) layer combines a low resistivity of 42.5 µΩcm, 84% optical transmittance at 900 nm, and thermal stability up to 800–1100°C. It stands out as an excellent high‐temperature transparent conductor with a negligible resistivity size effect, exceptional scaling (ρoλ < 3 × 10−16 Ωm2), and a figure of merit of 0.004 Ω−1.

Comparison of Seven Inversion Models for Estimating Plant and Woody Area Indices of Leaf-on and Leaf-off Forest Canopy Using Explicit 3D Forest Scenes

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Optical methods require model inversion to infer plant area index (PAI) and woody area index (WAI) of leaf-on and leaf-off forest canopy from gap fraction or radiation attenuation measurements.

Estimating leaf area index in different types of mature forest stands in Switzerland: a comparison of methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Leaf area index (LAI) was estimated at 15 sites in the Swiss Long-Term Forest Ecosystem Research Programme (LWF) in 2004-2005 using two indirect techniques: the LAI-2000 plant canopy analyzer (Licor Inc.) and digital hemispherical photography, applying ...

Uncertainty Analysis in the Creation of a Fine-Resolution Leaf Area Index (LAI) Reference Map for Validation of Moderate Resolution LAI Products

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2015
The validation process for a moderate resolution leaf area index (LAI) product (i.e., MODIS) involves the creation of a high spatial resolution LAI reference map (Lai-RM), which when scaled to the moderate LAI resolution (i.e., > 1 km) allows for ...
