Generating Multi‐Depth 3D Holograms Using a Fully Convolutional Neural Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 28, July 24, 2024.
This work introduces the forward–backward‐diffraction framework for computing multi‐depth diffraction fields and the layer‐by‐layer replacement method for handling occlusion relationships. When combined with a fully convolutional neural network, it generates multi‐depth holograms with excellent depth focusing and corrects occlusion relationships.

Stochastic Assessment of Dissolution at Fluid‐Mineral Interfaces

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 51, Issue 7, 16 April 2024.
Abstract Chemical weathering associated with dissolution/precipitation at interfaces between minerals and flowing fluids is key for the evolution of geologic systems, including groundwater contamination and storage capacity. Relying on Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) yields reaction rates at nanoscale resolutions.

Digital three-color holographic interferometry for flow analysis

open access: yesOptics Express, 2008
A digital three-color holographic interferometer was designed to analyze the variations in refractive index induced by a candle flame. Color holograms are generated and recorded with a three layer photodiode stack sensor allowing a simultaneous recording with a high spatial resolution.

Accelerated Augmented Reality Holographic 4k Video Projections Based on Lidar Point Clouds for Automotive Head‐Up Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 12, Issue 12, April 24, 2024.
Current automotive head‐up displays are limited to the projection area on the windshield. An augmented reality holographic point cloud video projection system is developed to display objects aligned with real‐life objects in size and distance within the driver's field of view on the road.

Spontaneous Transition of Spherical Coacervate to Vesicle‐Like Compartment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 7, February 16, 2024.
This study shows the formation of a coacervation‐driven membrane‐less vesicle‐like structure using GG1234 and bhBMP‐2. A phase transition from spherical simple coacervates to vesicular condensates occurred upon the addition of bhBMP‐2 to GG1234 simple coacervates under acidic conditions, eventually leading to multiphasic vesicle‐like compartments with ...

Information retrieval from holographic interferograms: Fundamentals and problems [PDF]

open access: yes
Holographic interferograms can contain large amounts of information about flow and temperature fields. Their information content can be very high because they can be viewed from many different directions. This multidirectionality, and fringe localization

Study of optical techniques for the Ames unitary wind tunnel: Digital image processing, part 6 [PDF]

open access: yes
A survey of digital image processing techniques and processing systems for aerodynamic images has been conducted. These images covered many types of flows and were generated by many types of flow diagnostics.

Holographic recording of fast events on a CCD camera [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We report on holographic recording of nanosecond events on a conventional CCD camera. Three frames of an air-discharge event, with resolution of 5.9 ns and frame interval of 12 ns, are recorded in a single CCD frame.

Fiber-optic projected-fringe digital interferometry [PDF]

open access: yes
A phase-stepped projected-fringe interferometer was developed which uses a closed-loop fiber-optic phase-control system to make very accurate surface profile measurements.
